What Is The Auxiliary?

Founded on a tradition of service, the CMHS Auxiliary is a volunteer organization whose mission is to augment the programs and services of Community Memorial Health System, a not for profit entity.

Volunteer With Us!

Volunteers at CMHS are the heart of our hospital. Our volunteers share a common spirit and a desire to use their life experiences and education to support patients, visitors and staff.

What do Volunteers Do?

Our volunteers give generously of their time and their talent, each one contributing in a unique way to the smooth operation of many hospital services. In addition to volunteering countless hours each year, our Auxiliary Members have also purchased equipment and numerous other items to enhance the caring atmosphere of the hospital.

Where Can I Help?

Your help is needed in many areas of the hospital. Services provided by Auxiliary Members include Book Cart, Complementary Therapy, Lobby Reception, Emergency Department Support, Flyers, Gift Shop Staffing, Maternity and NICU Support, Pharmacy, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Same Day Surgery, Sewing Service, and Surgery Waiting Room Reception.

New members receive individual training and complete a three-month probationary period. Volunteers must be able to complete at least twelve months of consecutive service and serve at least 4-5 hours each month.
