What Is The Auxiliary?
Founded on a tradition of service, the CMH Auxiliary is an organization whose mission is to augment the programs and services of Community Memorial Hospital, a not-for-profit facility.
Auxiliary volunteers are men, women and students, from varied backgrounds, who share a common interest in helping others and providing comfort and assistance to patients and their families.
The Auxiliary Welcomes You
Auxiliary members donate their time and talent in many areas of the hospital. Their contributions, far-reaching and diverse, are vital for the efficient care of patients and guests. All auxiliary members commit to at least a year of service (minimum of 50 hours).
The Auxiliary is a people-serving organization. Profits from the gift shop, sales of souvenir birth certificates, and special events such as the book sale and fine jewelry sale, add to our annual monetary gift presented to the hospital.
What Do Auxiliary Members Do?
Your help is needed in many areas of the hospital. New members receive individual training and
complete a three-month probationary period. Two, three, and four hour shifts may be available in
various services once or twice a month, or more.
ALL Auxiliary Services require adherence to HIPPA regulations and infection control procedures.
Members serve in a variety of ways and in many departments.
Benefits of Volunteering
Auxiliary members often discover new skills, personal growth and rewarding friendships.
Adult Volunteers are honored at the annual Awards Luncheon and the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. They receive discounts at the Fitness Center, Cafeteria, Pharmacy and Gift Shop. Junior Volunteers are honored at an annual recognition dinner, and high school seniors may apply for a college scholarship.
