Assistance, Education
and Support
The CMHS Cancer Resource Center,
in conjunction with Community Memorial
Hospital, The Wellness Community Valley/
Ventura, and the American Cancer Society,
offers a variety of services designed to
meet the needs of individuals faced with
a diagnosis of cancer as well as providing
programs for family members, friends and
the community-at-large. These services are
offered free of charge in a comfortable
non-hospital setting.
How We Help
A cancer diagnosis can oftentimes be devastating
for the individual and their loved ones.
Fear, anxiety–even understanding cancer terminology
and procedures–can be overwhelming.
Community Memorial Hospital has long been
committed to assisting cancer patients from
diagnosis through recovery. Helping enhance
the level of services provided, CMHS is extremely
proud to reach a long time goal and
announce their Cancer Program accreditation
with commendation from the American College
of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The CMHS
Cancer Program was also awarded the CoC Outstanding
Achievement Award for a new Cancer
Program. The CMHS Cancer Resource Center is
part of the CMHS Cancer Program.
With the Cancer Resource Center, the community now has a place to go locally to get the information they need. The Cancer Resource Center is currently located at 120 N. Ashwood Avenue in Ventura. Decorated in warm earth-tone colors, the center features comfortable furniture, fully functioning kitchen, a resource library and a computer station.
Moreover, the center is staffed by a dedicated
group of caring and trained individuals who
can assist patients and offer resources and guidance
on a variety of services and information
specific to their needs while being surrounded
in a comfortable environment.
