Assistance, Education
and Support
The Cancer Resource Center, in conjunction with Community Memorial Hospital personnel, The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura, and the American Cancer Society, offers a variety of services designed to meet the needs of individuals faced with a diagnosis of cancer, as well as providing programs for family members, friends, and the community-at-large. These services are offered free of charge in a comfortable, non-hospital setting.
How We Help
A cancer diagnosis can oftentimes be devastating
for the individual and their loved ones. Fear,
anxiety – even understanding cancer terminology
and procedures – can be overwhelming.
Community Memorial Hospital has long been
committed to assisting cancer patients from
diagnosis and treatment through recovery.
Helping enhance the level of services provided,
CMH is extremely proud to reach a long time
goal and announce the opening of the Cancer
Resource Center.
With the Cancer Resource Center the community
now has a place to go locally to get information
they need. The free-standing resource center
is conveniently located directly across from the
main entrance of CMH in a newly renovated
home. Decorated in warm earth-tone colors,
the center features comfortable furniture, fully
functioning kitchen, a library of resources and a
computer station.
Moreover, the center is staffed by a dedicated
group of caring and trained individuals who can
assist patients and offer resources and guidance
on a variety of services and information specific
to their needs while being surrounded in a
homey environment.
