Heart Related Patient Services - Patient Education Classes

Weight Management
Want to lose weight? Need help? Come to the weight management classes held here at Community Memorial Health System.

Class description: Class discusses barriers to weight management and how to successfully overcome these barriers. sound nutritional practices will be emphasized. A brief follow-up with the dietician four to eight weeks afterwards helps the participant stay on track.

Additional Information and Cost

  • Ask your doctor for a prescription for a diet instruction.
  • You may bring a friend, spouse or relative to learn with you (free)
  • Diabetes diet instruction is usually covered by insurances.
  • Call your insurance regarding coverage for weight management teaching.
  • Bring your insurance card and prescription to class
  • If you do not have insurance or will not be using your insurance, a discounted fee of $40 will be due at class

Outpatient Diabetic Program
The Outpatient Diabetic Program is currently every other week for eight consecutive weeks for two hours. Time and availability varies due to enrollment. For this class call 805/797-3676 or CLICK HERE FOR CURRENT CLASSES .

Diabetic Diet Basics Program

One on One Nutritional Couseling

Dietician and patient have one to one relationship regarding the area of topic or disease to concentrate on.

Healthy Nutrition
Please call Outpatient Nutritional Counseling at 805/652-5066 for appointments and visit the prevention section for different topics, such as: general nutrition, carbohydrates, sugar, fiber, four fad diets, USDA MyPyramid, menu planning caffeine, and cholesterol.
