How You Can Help

Letter From the President of CMHF

Dear Neighbors,

Kathryn M. Woodburn, President, Community Memorial Healthcare FoundationNearly a quarter century ago, the non-profit Community Memorial Healthcare Foundation was formed with a mission of bringing together local citizens to help Community Memorial Hospital in its efforts to offer the highest quality healthcare by consistently investing in the newest technology, education and training.

I am proud that the Foundation has been successful in achieving its philanthropic goals. Indeed, through our "Big Three" annual fundraising events-the Gold Dust Gala, NICU Golf Tournament, and Benefactors' Ball-the Foundation has helped purchase an array of state-of-the-art medical equipment to support the hospital.

But the Foundation does much more than invest in the latest technology-it is vested in the people of our community. For example, monies raised from our fundraisers provide free mammograms and ensuing treatment for low-income women throughout Ventura County.

The Foundation, as you can see, plays a major role in CMH's ongoing "Commitment to Caring." In order to do even more, including doing our part to help with the future expansion of the hospital's structure, the Foundation has a new philosophy: We are no longer going to be a quiet partner. It's time to step forward and step up our philanthropic efforts.

We now send out an end-of-year annual appeal designed to remind the community that the Foundation's work continues twelve months a year. To be certain, providing the newest life-saving technology is expensive and would not be possible without the Foundation-and the Foundation would not be possible without you.

With so many premature high-risk infants to care for and low-income women in need of free mammogram screenings, with new additions to the hospital on the horizon, the Foundation can't afford to be a quiet partner.

Sincerely,

Kathryn M. Woodburn President
Community Memorial Healthcare Foundation
