CMHS Seminar in Ojai to Focus on Acid Reflux Disease

Acid reflux disease – commonly known as heartburn – will be the focus of a free seminar Community Memorial Health System and Ojai Valley Community Hospital are holding on Saturday, Feb. 23.
Bennett E. Roth, M.D., will lead the seminar being called “Acid Reflux: Answers to Your Burning Questions.” It will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Soule Park Banquet Room, at 1033 East Ojai Ave.
Dr. Roth will explain the symptoms of acid reflux disease and the means by which it is diagnosed and treated. Dr. Roth also will provide details on the esophageal and other organic consequences of the disorder, as well as touch on Barrett’s esophagitis and the risk of esophageal cancer.
Dr. Roth is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and serves as Chief Gastroenterology at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College. Dr. Roth is a reviewer for numerous professional journals and is an accomplished lecturer. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology and the Southern California Society of Gastroenterology.
