OVCH Hires New Director of Continuing Care Center
Ojai, California, 06/09/2008
Ojai Valley Community Hospital has announced the hiring of Anne Carey Wallman as director of its Continuing Care Center.
The Continuing Care Center is a 66-bed facility for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term placement. It is the only nursing center in the Ojai Valley that is adjacent to an acute care facility.
Wallman comes to OVCH from Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, where she served as director of Skilled Nursing for the past year. A registered nurse for 40 years, Wallman previously was manager of the Glisan Care Center in Portland, Ore., and director of nursing of Extendicare, also in Portland. Before that, she was executive director of Beverly Healthcare Enterprises in Seattle, Wash., and administrator of Olympia Manor in Olympia, Wash.
“We are very fortunate to find an individual with the vast experience that Anne brings,” OVCH Chief Executive Officer Mary Jo Garrett said. “We all look forward to working with her.”
Wallman said she is excited about her new job, and also looks forward to working closely with the Continuing Care Center staff to provide outstanding care for its patients.
“I love it; it’s a great facility,” said Wallman, a sailing enthusiast who lives on her 46-foot sailboat in Ventura Harbor. She added: “If I’m not sailing, I’m working on my boat.”
A native of Washington, Wallman earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Northfield University in London. She is a registered nurse in California, Washington and Oregon and is Resident Assessment Coordinator-certified nationally.
