Community Memorial Health System Honors Employees

Ventura, California, 08/05/2008

Hundreds of employees at Community Memorial and Ojai Valley Community Hospitals and the Centers for Family Health were honored at the annual Community Memorial Health System Employee Recognition Banquet.

Community Memorial Health System recognized scores of employees who together have worked for several hundred years caring for patients and supporting healthcare in a variety of jobs in Ventura County. This year's awards banquet was held on June 27 at the Ventura Beach Marriott Hotel and featured a four-course dinner and dancing.

Speakers included Gary Wolfe, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Samuel Small, CMH Chief of Staff-Elect, and Dr. Daniel Sommer, OVCH Chief of Staff, who welcomed guests on behalf of the board and hospital medical staffs.

The top honored employees were Bonita "Rachel" Altman, Laundry Worker II who has given 40 years of service at CMH and Carmen Chacon, Medical Support Clerk III was thanked for 35 years of service at CMH. Five employees - Leora Chrestman, Judith Drew, Rebecca McIlvaine, Sally Molenhouse, and Eleanor Wilson - were recognized for 30 years of service. Scores of others were thanked for their service of 25 years, 20 years, 15 years, 10 years and five years.
