Seminar to Focus on Advances in Plastic Surgery

The public is invited to learn more about latest developments in plastic surgery, including both cosmetic and reconstructive, during a free seminar Community Memorial Health System is holding on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
Samuel Bern, M.D., a local plastic surgeon, will lead the seminar that will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in the eighth-floor Nichols Auditorium at Community Memorial Hospital, 147 Brent St. in Ventura.
In addition to providing information on plastic surgery, Dr. Bern will offer his candid opinions on the newest lasers, fillers and face lift procedures. Learn who a good candidate would be for these procedures and what part of reality shows are real and what are Hollywood. Dr. Bern also will discuss what the future holds for plastic surgery.
Dr. Bern, who received his medical degree at Yale University School of Medicine, is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is on staff at CMH. He completed a general surgery residency at Harvard University and his plastic surgery residency at UCLA.
