Preventing Heart Disease is focus for Ongoing Series

Free blood pressure checks and cholesterol screening continue to be offered at Community Memorial Hospital's monthly series focusing on Strategies to Prevent Heart Disease. Each series is held the third Thursday of each month, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., in the eighth-floor Nichols Auditorium at Community Memorial Hospital, 147 Brent St. in Ventura.
Series topics include:
- "Diabetes and Heart Disease," presented by Loquintha Rex, DNP on Thursday, July 17.
- "Weight Management with Healthy Eating," presented by Cheryl Beers, a registered dietician on Thursday, August 21.
- "Complementary Therapies," presented by multiple speakers on Thursday, September 18. Areas to be covered will include nutritional supplements, massage, reflexology, yoga, meditation, acupuncture and wellness program.
- "Cholesterol 101," presented by Andrea Ricketts, Cardiology Nurse Practitioner on Thursday, October 16.
