Ojai Hospital Auxiliary Hosts Tri-counties Meeting

The Ojai Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary hosted the quarterly meeting of the Tri-Counties Area Council on October 19th.
The mission of the Tri-Counties Area Council is to encourage hospital auxiliaries and volunteer groups to cooperate and exchange ideas, share convention and workshop reports, and to inspire enthusiasm and leadership among its members. The Council is made up of hospital volunteers from many of the hospitals in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. 2009 President is Pat Foxen from the Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital and 2010 President-elect is Sandy Frandsen from Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura.
Hosting the event was Ojai Valley Community Hospital’s Auxiliary President John Mason. The event featured main speaker Barbara Hirsch, from the Ojai Valley Community Hospital Guild speaking on “Art and Healing – the Ojai Experience” with entertainment provided by Andy Radford, principal bassoonist for the Santa Barbara Symphony and Musical Director for the Ojai Youth Symphony.
Table centerpieces were created and donated by the artists of Made in Ojai, they were Patty Van Dyke, Nancy Novak, Jaymie Arquilevich, Sharon Markley, Sue Sullivan, Kristen Clawson, Evergreen, Mary Ann Maybaum, Ruthie Marks, Gaea Cannaday, Lori Zimmerman and Roberta Reye, who also contributed supplies. Place favors generously provided by Ojai Music Festival. Additional thanks to Gerry Schwanke, who loaned the sound system.
