Support Group Offered for Heart Patients with Implanted Devices

Community Memorial Hospital is introducing a new support group for heart patients with implanted cardiac devices.
Families and friends of patients also are invited to attend the support group meetings, which will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 12 and Nov. 4 in the eighth-floor Nichols Auditorium at CMH, 147 N. Brent St.
Dr. Ishu Rao, a cardiac electrophysiologist on staff at CMH, will moderate the support group to help patients understand the issues surrounding Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators (ICDs) and Bi-Ventricular Devices and allow them to share their experiences.
