CMHS Offers Free Monthly Diabetes Support Groups

Community Memorial Health System is offering free monthly Diabetes Interactive Support Groups for English- and Spanish-speaking patients.
Both English and Spanish support groups will cover different topics each month, including:
- What is diabetes
- Basic carbohydrate counting
- Diabetes treatments
- Routine diabetes care and follow up
- Daily diabetes self-care (oral, skin, foot care)
- Diabetes and exercise - review options and benefits
- Additional topics per group request
The English-speaking group meets the second Thursday of each month, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at CMHS’s Training Center at 2809 Main St., Suite B, in Ventura. Loquintha Rex, RN, DNP, ACNP-BC, BC-ADM, CPT, is serving as facilitator. Phone: 805-667-2818.
The Spanish-speaking group meets the second Monday of each month, from 6 to 7 p.m., at CMHS’s Center for Family Health office at 2921 South Saviers Road in Oxnard. Physician Assistant Vicky Bobadilla is the facilitator. Phone: 805-652-5339.
Both support groups are sponsored by CMHS’s DiabetesAware program.
