CMH to Hold Free Eight-Week ‘Stop Smoking’ Class Beginning on Nov. 23

Community Memorial Hospital is holding a free eight-session “Stop Smoking” class beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 23, and running through Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012.
The sessions meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at CMH’s HEALTHaware/Outpatient Radiology Reception room, located on the third floor at 168 N. Brent St. They include sessions on how to handle smoking urges, how to handle stress and moods and how to handle slips. Sessions on weight and exercise, lifestyle balance and life without cigarettes also will be covered. Nicotine replacement therapy products will be offered to program participants on Jan. 25 and Feb. 1.
The sessions are co-sponsored by Ventura County Public Health and funded by the Ventura County Tobacco Settlement Program.
