Loquintha Rex RN, DNP - CMHS Hospital Hero
Ventura, California, 02/06/2012
Community Memorial Health System is proud to announce Loquintha Rex has received the Hospital Hero award. The Annual Hospital Hero Awards, produced by the National Health Foundation, is an annual event that showcases hospitals throughout the Hospital Association – Southern California (HASC) region. Among those recognized was CMH’s Loquintha Rex, nominated by her peers.
Loquintha has a Doctorate in Nursing, and is a Nurse Practitioner with a focus in Diabetes Management. She is intelligent, caring, dedicated, and humble in her care of diabetic patients and has single-handedly transformed diabetic care in our health system to “cutting edge” proportions. Loquintha ensures that diabetic patients are cared for safely and promotes patient self management practices.
Loquintha is a voracious producer. She educates nurses, physicians, Hospitalists, ancillary departments, patients and has an outreach class on Diabetes care. She has strengthened the inpatient diabetes management process at CMH, as well as participating with many interdisciplinary and Medical Staff committees to establish inpatient diabetes protocols and physician order sets. She created the Diabetes Nurse Resource Committee and developed Diabetic quick reference binders on all the inpatient units. Loquintha “gets the job done,” always with a quiet and thoughtful manner, Loquintha is a plus to all endeavourers involving patient safety, education and Diabetic care at CMH.
