Hospital workers honored - Five recognized for 35 years of service at CMH, Ojai Valley Community

Community Memorial Health System honored 275 employees at Community Memorial and Ojai Valley Community hospitals, including five for their 35 years of service, at its annual employee recognition banquet.
CMHS recognized scores of employees who together have worked for several hundred years caring for patients and supporting health care in a variety of jobs in Ventura County. This year’s awards banquet was held on June 26 at the Ventura Beach Marriott Hotel.
Speakers included Dr. Martin Pops, chairman of the board of trustees; Dr. Samuel Small, CMH chief of staff; and Dr. John Slaght, OVCH chief of staff, who welcomed guests on behalf of the board and hospital medical staffs.
The five employees honored for their 35 years of service were: Guillermo “Memo” Berber (CMH Food Services); Priscilla Brennan, RN IV (OVCH Med- Surgery); Portia Cater, RN IV (CMH Surgery); Mary Richey, RN II (CMH Same- Day Surgery); and nurse tech Cleta Rose (CMH Surgery).
Scores of others were thanked for their service of 30 years, 25 years, 20 years, 15 years, 10 years and five years.
