‘Heels & Wheels’ Ride Raises $20,000 for CMH’s Breast Center
Ventura County Star
Ventura Harley-Davidson’s seventh annual “Heels & Wheels” women’s motorcycle ride in July raised nearly $20,000 for The Breast Center at Community Memorial Hospital.
Close to 200 women participated in the 60-mile ride through Ventura County that ended with a reception at the Limoneira Ranch in Santa Paula. Proceeds from entry fees and money collected from a raffle for a 2012 Harley-Davidson Switchback motorcycle went to The Breast Center, which provides women with little or no health insurance with mammograms, ultrasounds, and biopsies for the early detection and prevention of breast cancer.
Tracy Warriner, part owner of Ventura Harley Davidson and coordinator of “Heels & Wheels” presented a check for $19,753 to Becky Trevino, director of The Breast Center, during a ceremony at the Camarillo dealership in August.
