Critical Care is the name used to describe two departments: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Coronary Care Unit (CCU). Both state-of-the-art units are designed for patients requiring concentrated attention and highly expert medical care from specially trained nurses in a controlled environment.
Most Critical Care patients stay in the ICU or CCU for a few days until their improved conditions allow them to be transferred to one of CMHS's excellent medical/surgical patient floors.
OVCH is equipped with an ICU while CMH's ICU also includes a CCU.
