Lifeline
The Lifeline system is provided by Camarillo Healthcare District and combines high-technology and a commitment to caring. Lifeline subscribers wear a wristwatch-sized bracelet or a small pendant that have a "help" button. Pressing the button activates a speakerphone in the person's home which alerts a Lifeline operator (on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year) that the subscriber may require help.
Lifeline is especially popular with the elderly who live alone, but seniors are not the only ones who benefit from the service. One study has shown that Lifeline users are 10 times less likely to need a long-term care facility than those who don't subscribe to the service.
