Brittany Haliani, M.L.S.
Brittany started her career as a medical librarian at the Mayo Clinic. She spent eight years running one of the Mayo Clinic libraries, during which she earned her Master of Library Science degree at Texas Women's University with a focus on medical librarianship. After the completion of her graduate degree, she moved to the Washington, D.C. area to become the Director of the Medical Library and CME at Suburban Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine. During her six years at Johns Hopkins, Brittany initiated a program where a medical librarian participates in clinical rounding. In 2011 Brittany was recruited by Cottage Health in Santa Barbara, CA. She not only manages the Reeves Medical Library but has also participated in designing a new state of the art medical library set to open in October 2016. Brittany established a Clinical Medical Librarian rounding program at Cottage Health and currently rounds daily with clinicians in several areas of the hospital. She is an active member of the Medical Library Association and participates in continuing education activities to keep current in the field of Library science. Brittany is delighted to be actively working with CMHS to initiate our new clinical library service.
