Michael Sparkuhl, MD
Dr. Sparkuhl grew up in Laguna Beach, CA. He graduated from San Francisco State University, subsequently attending medical school with one of his 3 brothers in Rome, Italy. He graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Neb. He interned at LAC-USC Medical Center in LA and completed General Surgery Residency at University of Hawaii. He practiced General and Vascular Surgery in Laguna Beach for 8 years before relocating with his wife and 2 daughters to Ventura County in the late 1980's. He has been active in the surgical community ever since, serving as Chief of Surgery at various local hospitals and practicing general surgery and endoscopy.
He currently works with other surgery department members in the residency program, helping to develop outpatient clinical experience along with inpatient surgery and endoscopy. His interests include aviation art, scale RC models, trap/skeet shooting, flamenco guitar, Hot Rods, and medical device development.
