Welcome to Community Memorial Health System.  
We are delighted that you are interested in rotating here at CMHS.  We offer a unique environment that emphasizes hands on, individualized experiences
for medical students that choose to join us for their third year rotations, audition rotations, or elective rotations.  As a faculty, we are excited about teaching and supervising the progressive acquisition of skills that transforms you from beginning students to residents.  We have tried to create a dynamic environment that helps you to grow both personally and professionally as you work toward your career goals.  We look forward to partnering with you to
make your rotations here the best experience possible.

Audition Rotations
We begin accepting and reviewing applications for audition rotations on Jan. 15
of the prior academic year. Please allow four to six weeks to process the application. Rotations will be scheduled for the time periods listed above starting in early March. We will accept students from both osteopathic and allopathic schools for audition rotations in General Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine. We will accept students from osteopathic schools for audition rotations in Orthopaedic Surgery.

Listed below are the available audition rotations for the upcoming academic year.

  • Family Medicine, Mid-July to November
  • General Surgery, Mid-July to November
  • Internal Medicine, Mid-July to November
  • Orthopaedic Surgery Mid-July to November

Elective Rotations
Due to a limited capacity during the first half of the academic year, we ask
that medical students needing elective and sub-internship rotations to complete graduation requirements to please request rotations after Jan. 1. At that time we will be able to offer many more opportunities in sub-specialty medicine, surgery and ambulatory rotations. At that time we will be able to offer many more opportunities
in sub-specialty medicine, surgery and ambulatory rotations.

Rural Medicine Rotation
We offer an opportunity for students to do a primary care rotation in a rural, underserved setting. Students will be paired with a family medicine practice and exposed to the broader skill set and additional knowledge required to practice medicine in a rural community. Students will work with practitioners providing longitudinal primary, preventative, and perinatal care and performing those bedside procedures commonly performed in primary care. We will accept a limited number

Third Year Medical Students
We have an affiliation with Western University of Health Sciences and serve as a
3rd year rotation site for these students.
