Lauren Van Sant, D.O.
Dr. Lauren Van Sant is a Ventura, California native. Seeking to broaden her horizons for her undergraduate education, she attended James Madison University in Virginia where she was a member of the Division 1 Gymnastics Team. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she decided to stay back east a bit longer and ultimately attended medical school at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. It was in Virginia that she found her passion for general surgery and was elated upon hearing about the up and coming general surgery residency at CMH. In her free time, Lauren loves to stay active and enjoy the outdoors through surfing, running, rock climbing, dancing, and cycling. In the future, she hopes to be able to divide her time between the states and developing countries, using her surgical skills and knowledge to serve people in areas where such healthcare is not readily accessible. Being able to train as a surgeon in her hometown is an absolute dream come true for Lauren, and she is greatly looking forward to working alongside such great physicians and helping shape this new residency program.
