Kyle Kubes, D.O.
Dr. Kyle Kubes was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Following high school, he attended Colorado Mountain College in Leadville to study Outdoor Recreation Leadership. He spent the next ten years enjoying his career as a mountaineering, rock climbing, backpacking, and mountain biking guide. He has always loved to travel and spent much of that time abroad, including two years in Central America. Kyle spent his free time rock climbing in some of the greatest climbing venues in the world, such as the Patagonian Andes, Yosemite National Park, and Thailand. His trip to Thailand began two weeks after the 2004 tsunami, and Kyle was inspired to go to medical school by the orthopaedic surgeons and other medical providers who volunteered to help the tsunami victims. He returned to school at the University of Colorado Boulder to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Physiology. He then attended medical school at Rocky Vista University, where he graduated with honors and was a member of the school’s Rural & Wilderness Medicine Honors Track. Kyle is very happy to have found his way into the CMHS community for his orthopaedic surgery residency training. He enjoys the creativity and problem solving involved in orthopaedics as well as the opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s well-being and functionality. While he is still considering further subspecialty, he is currently most interested in trauma, sports, or pediatrics. During his free time, he can usually be found relaxing at home or enjoying the outdoors while hiking, climbing, biking, camping, or visiting the beach with his lovely wife, Laura, and their two small children, Eli & Emma.
