Tariq Shaheed, D.O.
Dr. Tariq Shaheed was born in Los Angeles, CA and raised in Powder Springs, Georgia. He earned a basketball scholarship to California Baptist University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He went on to receive his medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in South Carolina.
Driven to give back after earning his bachelor's degree, Dr. Shaheed worked as an AmeriCorp member in Los Angeles, specializing in health improvement programs. After completing AmeriCorps, he entered a post-baccalaureate premedical education program at UCLA where he also worked as a research assistant on an NIH funded study in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Additionally, he spent a year volunteering at LAC + USC Medical Center in the Department of Emergency Medicine, which helped him to prepare for clinical aspects of his medical education.
In his free time he enjoys exploring the outdoors hiking and watching sports (Go UCLA Bruins!). Dr. Shaheed is very excited to be entering residency with us here at Community Memorial Health System and is thankful to his wife, mom, family, friends, and mentors for their support through the years.
