John Merrill, D.O.
Dr. John Merrill was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He left home to attend college at Brigham Young University-Idaho where he received his BS in Biology, after which he attended Brigham Young University in Utah, where he received his MS in Physiology and Developmental Biology. He then attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA where he received his doctorate in osteopathic medicine. During this time he also met his wife, who is a native of California. Following medical school, Dr. Merrill completed his intern year at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, MI before joining CMHS for the remainder of his family medicine training. He is thrilled to be back in Southern California, serving the Ventura community. Outside of medicine, Dr. Merrill likes to stay active by playing basketball, tennis, and water sports. He is also an avid fan of nearly all sports. He spends most of his free time with his wife, playing with and taking care of their new baby boy.
