Cardiac Rehabilitation

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Department can only accept those patients admitted on the order of a physician. Eligible patients are those with recent myocardial infarction, cardiac bypass surgery, angioplasty, stable angina.

Building Body, Mind, and Spirit

There is a special bond between recovering cardiac rehabilitation patients who have survived a cardiac incident. They share common goals as they travel on the road to recovery.

Through a carefully planned program, our goal is to return patients to their optimum quality of life by building body, mind, and spirit. Exercise plans, education, and reduction of risk factors are key components of the program. Patients are carefully reviewed and monitored every step of the way by nurses who are specially trained in cardiology, nutrition, body mechanics, and exercise physiology.

After a Cardiac Event

A cardiac incident like a heart attack, may result in open heart surgery. Patients who are placed in the Cardiac Care Unit following treatment are evaluated by their physician and referred to Cardiac Rehabilitation. Exercise, education, nutrition and stress management classes are included in the Cardiac Rehabilitation program.

Your Recovery Program

A multidisciplinary approach by the staff ensures that you and your family receive the appropriate education, support, and encouragement. A nurse specialist will explain the program and identify the cardiac risk factors which can affect your recovery.
