Rehabilitation Therapy

The rehabilitation services department of CMHS is available for physical, occupational and speech therapies as ordered for acute inpatients, outpatients, and Skilled Nursing Center residents. The department also offers acupuncture services on an as-scheduled basis.

The objective of the rehabilitation team is to provide physicians, patients and families with a unique body of knowledge in patient care, which through sound physiological and therapeutic techniques will achieve the highest preservation and/or restoration of functional capabilities to return to an optimum living situation. These services are appropriate to the patient’s age, developmental level and clinical status.

The Rehabilitation Team at CMHS is staffed by a team of Licensed Physical Therapists, Licensed Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, as well as Licensed Physical Therapist Assistants who are trained in:

Standards/Guidelines for Practice

The Rehabilitation Services department at Community Memorial Hospital is an approved site by the State of California Physical Therapy Board, Board of Occupational Therapy, and California Speech- Language and Audiology Board, California Title 22, State and Federal Regulations, Physical Therapy Department Policies, National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc., American Speech and Hearing Association guidelines, and the American Physical Therapy Association.
